Doyle Street Cafe
This is an amazing family owned restaurant that you can't miss!
I typically come here for brunch and all their brunch offerings are fantastic. You'll have to wait up to a half hour to get in but I've never regretted it.
Quality food, the staff is friendly and alert. Sometimes you have to ask for.more cream.
Awesome specials everyday. Short waits. They take ordinary American brunch items and make them exceptional. Eggs Benne with corned beef? Sign me up.
The best brunch place in Emeryville. Delicious. Fast. Super friendly.
Great service and environment. Food was exactly what you want from an American breakfast with a little unique flair
I had their wet breakfast burrito. It was so good! The chorizo and tomatillo salsa were on point. It was Sunday at brunch time so there was a half hour wait. Instead I ordered to go and brought it home. Was ready in 15 minutes.
I had an all-day meeting next door to the Doyle Street Cafe and had breakfast before the meeting. Then our who group had lunch and I order the Salmon Salad. This was the best salad I "ever" tasted. I took a picture of it and posted on Facebook and got over 100 likes and lots of comments. I will definitely go back for more. I'm going to post the picture and you are sure to salivate over it! Oh! the service was very friendly too! -Dr. A. Smith
We go here a lot, as it's the closest spot for breakfast. The food is solid, the staff are great, and the owners are friendly. It's like Cheers, everybody knows your name, and it's a comforting way to start the day.
Came here with a group of 5 people and we had to wait for a little bit. They don't take reservations so do plan accordingly. The staff was super friendly and I liked the layout, decor, and the use of positive/negative space for the dining area. We ordered the huevos rancheros, wet breakfast burrito, new denver omelette, and chicken chorizo. All the dishes were tasty and consistent. Overall I'd give this place a solid 3.5 stars because I wouldn't say there was any one dish that stood out in particular. Their food was just consistent. Using the right ingredients in fairly standard combinations. I had the breakfast burrito and it was as expected. A large burrito with tons of filling inside. They didn't skimp out on the chorizo and the sauce had just enough kick. I did feel that they overwhelmed the dish with the sauce and made the burrito super soggy. I'm sure others prefer it this way, just not me. They had slices of avocado on the top and sour cream. Everything worked for the dish and it was filling. For all the dishes, I thought they were a little light on the seasoning but you can fix that accordingly. One thing to note is that they do not have fresh squeezed orange juice, they serve Odwalla orange juice. Service was great, the waiter came and checked in on us every now and then. He took his time to explain the menu to us. They do have a small parking lot near by but it is usually full. There's street parking. A great place for breakfast/brunch. I would come back but I would like to try other places first.
Small selection, but quality food. Breakfast scramble delicious. Good coffee. No gluten free bread options.
Spacious, bright and up beat energy. Food is great. The French toast is not so soggy and sweet. Just about right.
Great atmosphere. I want to try everything on the menu. Friendly service. Expect a wait for brunch.
Good food, friendly staff. A bit pricey and the service is ok. However, one of the better breakfasts I've had in Emeryville.
